Golden Dragon Casino In Macau

Macau Malacca Street, Macau

Golden Dragon is essentially a copy and paste solution for what should have been built upon when The Golden Phoenix was introduced in 1990. It's a game where the player's aim is to move the golden. The Golden Dragon Casino & Hotel of Macau is located at a 10-minute walk from Macau Ferry Terminal and a 15-minute drive from the airport. The venue is composed by two connected buildings: the Main. Casino Golden Dragon offers over 72,000 square feet of gaming space divided over three floors. In addition there is another 20,000 feet of slots with Mocha Slots Club on the 1st-3rd floors as well.

With an interesting name like Golden Dragon, you would expect this hotel and casino to stand out a bit. Unfortunately, the building itself blends in a bit with its surroundings. This sums up a whole lot of the experience that many people say about this fairly recently opened hotel and casino; it just kind of blends in, and doesn’t do anything to really stand out.

The building is conveniently located by many of the entry ports to Macau, making it a good spot for those itching to gamble right off the bat.

The casino itself is nothing special, and its limited game selection is met with a medium sized floor, which includes about 75 tables or so. 20 VIP tables make up the floor, although it is hard to see why anyone would want to play here, as the atmosphere is so dull that things may as well be grey.

Games on offer on Golden Dragon’s floor include just Baccarat, Blackjack, and Sic-Bo. There are no slots to speak of, and many players report difficulty finding Blackjack table on the floor.

The hotel is an extension of the gaming floor, which are clean enough but certainly don’t have the glamour of any of many other Macau hotels. The rooms certainly don’t look to be the best in all of Macau, but there are definitely worse spots that you can stay in.

There are two restaurants to eat at inside of the Golden Dragon. Both of the restaurants here are pretty good, with the best being the Dragon Palace with its Chinese offerings. The shark fin soup is the most popular dish here, and found the prices of most of the food to be reasonable, aside from the soup and the abalone, which is generally some of the more pricey food that you will find on the island.

Overall, the Golden Dragon is a pretty mediocre place on Macau. The restaurants are probably the high points here, with the hotel rooms and casino floor doing nothing to really make itself stand out in a market full of choice. While there are certainly worse places to visit, those looking for something special will likely want to pass on Golden Dragon.
